Dr. Oliver Banks
Eye irritation, vision changes, or floaters? Talk to an ophthalmologist for $19.
Dr. Oliver Banks is an Ophthalmologist on JourneyDoctors. He sees patients with eye irritation, vision concerns, floaters, infections, and chronic dryness — the kind of questions that don't need a full in-person visit but do need a specialist eye on them. $19, 30 minutes, come back whenever.
No insurance needed · No referral · 30 seconds to start
See Dr. Banks if…
- New floaters or flashes of light
- A red, painful, or unusually dry eye
- Vision changes you want assessed before an in-person visit
- Eye infections, styes, or persistent irritation
- A diabetic eye-care question between annual exams
Not sure if Dr. Banks is the right fit? Start the consultation — if it’s outside their scope, they’ll route you to the right specialist before you’re charged a second time.

Common questions
- Can he examine my eye over video?
- Not at the level of a slit-lamp exam, but he can guide you through what you're seeing, when in-person care is urgent, and which symptoms can wait.
- When is a new floater an emergency?
- A shower of new floaters plus flashes of light or a "curtain" across your vision is a possible retinal detachment — go to an ophthalmologist or ER same day. Dr. Banks can help you triage quickly.
- Will he prescribe eye drops?
- He can talk through what classes (artificial tears, antibiotic, steroid, glaucoma drops) fit your case. The prescription is written through a local clinician or pharmacy.
- Is this for routine glasses prescriptions?
- No. Refraction needs an in-person exam. Dr. Banks is for the issues between annual checkups — irritation, infections, floaters, diabetic eye questions.
